Wondering the best way for students to send you work within Google Apps? I recommend three (3) different ways - choose the way that's best for you, and I can help you get started!
1. Shared Folder
Instruct the student to create a new Folder, and have him/her title the folder "Their Name - Turn In Folder". Next, have the student share the folder with you. Anytime the student wishes to turn something in, he/she places the file in that folder - now, you have access to student files without receiving dozens of email notifications. Click here for directions, or click here for an overview video.
2. Google Form
Create a Google Form (click here for an example) that serves as the "Turn In" form (click here for PDF directions on how to create this Form). When a student has an assignment to turn in, direct him/her to complete the Form and include the link to the file that needs to be turned in. You will see the results in a spreadsheet, and access to specific student files is merely a click away. Click here for student instructions, or click here to watch an overview video. To access the editable form to make a copy for yourself, click here.
3. gClass Folders
This is a more complete setup of student turn-in folders and teacher distribution folders. Through a Google Spreadsheet script (which I'll help you create), individual folders are created for students to turn-in assignments, and a shared "class folder" is created that allows you to share send files for all students to access at once.
